Does Little Pastiche Studio have Open Paint nights like other studios?

Generally, we offer mostly private events for small groups of 4-12 people.  Wine and Paint are our usual, but we also host children’s parties and have specialty art classes.  We do offer open paint nights on specific Wednesdays and Sundays of each month.  Check the Open Paint Parties tab above for exact dates and times.

Are there set paintings for Open Paint Nights?

Yes, each open paint night features a specific painting chosen for that date.  Private events, however,  can choose whatever painting they like from our gallery for their group.

Do I need to sign up in advance for Open Paint Nights and Specialty Classes?

Yes.  We have very limited seating and we need to know in advance how many people to expect for an event or class.  It is imperative you call and reserve your space prior to the class day.  We do not take walk in’s and if no one is scheduled to show up for a particular class, we will cancel the class.

What supplies do you provide for a painting party?
We supply everything you need but the bubbly: a canvas, acrylic paint, brushes, aprons, etc.  (In the case of a specialty class, we will let you know if there is anything you need to bring that we do not provide.  We make it clear if supplies are included in a class fee or if you need to provide your own.)

What should I wear?
Since we will be painting, it is a good idea to not wear your nicest clothes.  We provide aprons, but they are not a guarantee you won’t still get some paint on you somewhere.  It is a good idea to just wear something you won’t mind getting paint on.

What type of beverages can I bring to drink?
We are a BYOB, so you can bring any type of alcoholic  beverage you like, as long as you have proof of your age.  And of course, bring cold water, soda or juice if you prefer.

Do you have a refrigerator or ice?
We do not have a refrigerator or ice…it’s best to bring a small cooler with ice in it if needed.

Will you have wine openers and cups, etc.?
For your convenience, we do have corkscrews and bottle openers.  We do not provide cups, plates or eating utensils.  You should bring those items along as well if they are needed.

Can we bring food?
Our advice is to keep it simple-We have a small common area where you can set your food and wine and beverages.  Snacks are welcome, but you are limited to the area around your canvas in which to eat.  Finger foods and simple snacks and desserts are a nice alternative for painting parties.

Studio Policies

What do I need to do to reserve the studio for a small, private event?

You can fill out the party inquiry form here, submit it and wait for us to reply-usually within 24 hours.  Give us as much detail as possible on the form.  Or you can call the studio 708-580-6036 and ask for Emily to discuss and book your party.  If your date and time are available, all we require to hold your date is a small deposit of $35 which goes towards the cost of the party.   A $20 deposit is required to reserve a children’s party.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you booked a party and put a deposit down and must cancel, we can issue you a full refund if it is within 48 hours.  After that, you can apply your deposit to reserving a different date  or put it toward another class.
Our studio is small and we have a maximum number of 12 painters allowed per painting session.   If you have signed up for one of our classes, and you cannot attend for any reason, you will be granted a full refund as long as you notify us at least 48 hours before the start of the class. That will give us a chance to contact other interested guests on a waiting list who may be able to take your place.

In the event that you need to cancel, reschedule, or modify a class registration with less than 48 hours notice (but not less than 6 hours), we cannot refund your money, but we will issue you a voucher for a future class without penalty. If you cancel, reschedule, or modify less than 6 hours before the start of the class, or if you fail to attend without notice, then your credit card will be charged as we are unable to replace you with other guests.

What if I don’t see a painting I like?  Can you create one for me?  Our artists are working pretty hard to constantly create a diverse selection of paintings for you to choose from.  Having said that, If there is something specific you would like to paint for your group or have a particular theme or if you see something somewhere else you prefer more, by all means contact Emily and see if she can recreate it for you.  There is no extra charge for this as long as you allow a 2 week lead time.

What time do I need to arrive for a class?
We open the doors 20 minutes before a class. We recommend getting there at least 10 minutes early to get acclimated before the fun starts! Arriving late to class can disrupt the flow of instruction, and limits how much fun you’ll have, so please be considerate and get to class at the scheduled time.

What is the age requirement for a class?
Open painting classes are for adults.  We understand many families have aspiring artists under their roof, so  we kindly ask that children under 18 be accompanied by an adult if attending an open painting session.  Private parties are different-children 7 and up can paint right along with the adults. Call ahead if you have younger children for private events.

Do you have Birthday Parties for children?   We do! Children aged 6 and up are welcome (and encouraged!) to celebrate their special day at our studio.  All birthday parties are private events.  We can accommodate as few as  4 and as many as 12 children per event.  Please call in advance to check on your desired date and time.  Any day is a reason to celebrate with an art party!

Do you have special events for Scouts?

Yes!  We love to help scouts earn their art badges.  We have special rates for scout troops and Packs.  Please call us for more details and to let us know how we can help.

Do we have to tip the artist?
 Our teachers work very hard to make everyone’s painting experience a positive, and successful one.  We give extra help to those who need it and really feel it’s important everyone goes home feeling like they had an awesome time painting.   Although it is by no means required, if you feel  you would like to tip one of our artists it would be greatly welcomed and appreciated.

What happens if the weather is bad on the day I am registered for a class?
We will contact everyone on the list via e-mail and/or phone if we need to close the studio and we will post all closings on the home page of the website. If we close the studio due to inclement weather, you will be issued a full refund for that class.

What if my group is larger than 12?  Can you bring the easels and canvas to my venue?

We would be happy to pack up the paints, canvas and easels and bring the party to you.  We only travel to public venues, within a certain distance-no private homes.  Please call to inquire further on your date, time and place.  We charge an additional $50 to bring the art to you.
